Kedar Tal: A glacial lake, it’s sprinkling and pristine water is a popular trekking destination in the Garhwal Himalayan region. The finest high-altitude Himalayan lake, it is punctuated with breathtakingly close view of Greater Himalayan peaks e.g. Thaleysagar (6904m), Brigupanth (6772m) and Jogin Group of peaks. From the emerald lake with melting snow of Kedar glacier originates Kedarganga, a tributary of Bhagirathi. One can encounter a good variety of high altitude fauna e.g. Bharal (Blue sheep), Goral, Himalayan black bear and a great variety of birds. The trek is a bit strenuous, but the rewards are very high.

  1. Day 1 Arrival in Dehradun; drive to Uttarkashi (1150m/3773 ft.; 183 km; 6–7 hrs)

    Arrival at Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun). Drive to Uttarkashi. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Uttarkashi.

  2. Day 2 Uttarkashi – Gangotri (3050m/10,007 ft., 99 km; 3-4 hrs)

    Post breakfast we travel to Gangotri. En-route halt at the beautiful village of Harsil for lunch. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel/guesthouse in Gangotri.

  3. Day 3 (Trek Start) Gangotri - Bhoj Kharak (3780m/12,402 ft., 8 km; 5-6 hrs)

    Post breakfast, we start steep ascent towards Bhoj Kharak. We cross the Kedar gorge to reach Bhoj kharak. The trek path is along with the Kedar Ganga river, through fir (cedes) and Bhoj (birch) trees. Dinner and overnight stay at camp in Bhoj Kharak.

  4. Day 4 Bhoj Kharak - Kedar Kharak (4270m/14,010; 6 km; 4–5 hrs)

    Post breakfast, we leave the tree line and trek through a long meadow with Bhrigupanth peak in backdrop. Dinner and overnight stay in camp near the gushing stream in the meadow at Kedar Kharak.

  5. Day 5 Kedar Kharak- Acclimatisation day

    Post breakfast, we do a small hike on the other side of the hill. Come back for hot lunch at the campsite. Evening spent around the campsite and preparation for last push for Kedar tal. Dinner and overnight stay at camp in Kedar Kharak.

  6. Day 6 Kedar Kharak - Kedar Tal (4750m/15,780 ft.; 8 km; 5-6 hrs)

    Post early breakfast, we walk on very steep terrain and through boulders and stones to reach Kedar Tal. Enjoy an excellent sunset view of Thaleysagar peak with its reflection in the lake. Dinner and overnight stay near the gushing stream in the meadow at Kedar Tal.

  7. Day 7 Kedar tal - Spare day

    Extra day to spend in the company of the stunning surroundings of Kedar Tal. Today we can go to explore Jogin base camp

  8. Day 8 Kedar Tal – Bhoj Kharak (14 km; 7-8 hrs)

    Today is a long day. Post early breakfast, we start trek down towards Bhoj Kharak. Dinner and overnight at the camp Bhoj Kharak

  9. Day 9 Bhoj Kharak- Gangotri. Drive to Uttarkashi.

    Add Today post breakfast we walk down to Gangotri and from there we will drive to Uttarkashi.

  10. Day 10 Final departure

    Post breakfast we drive to Dehradun airport. Final
