The Dolomites to Venice cycling in Italy, route starts in the heart of these superb mountains and following the course of the river Adige takes you to the palm-lined shores of Lake Garda. Further on, you’ll explore some remarkable Italian cities such as Verona, the town of Romeo & Juliet, Vicenza, renowned for the classical Palladio architecture, and Padova, home to one of the oldest Italian (and European) universities in this cycling tour. At the end of the cycling trip, the timeless fascination of Venice will invite you to an exploration by foot and by water along its canals and small “calli”.

Venice – Bolzano 280 km
Transfer from Mestre to Bolzano can be arranged at € 65/- (available on Saturdays and Sundays).
Trains are available from Venezia Mestre to Bolzano Bozen at regular intervals. The journey time varies from 2½ hrs to 3½ hrs depending upon the type of train. Advance booking can be done 120 days in advance at the following sites www.trenitalia.in / www.trenitalia.com. The price ranges from € 19/- to € 40/- depending on the time of travel.

Possibility to shorten the itinerary by taking the train: day 2, 3 and 5.
As a whole it is an easy to manage itinerary, riding on secondary streets with low traffic or paved bike paths. There are light hilly bits with short uphill sections.
Easy cycling in mostly flat areas, with only few short climbs and descents. Little effort required, suitable for most people. The longer stages, from Bolzano to Trento and from Verona to Vicenza can be shortened by taking the train.

Hybrid bikes are available in various sizes in unisex/women’s or men’s models. At the moment of booking, you can choose among the following bikes:

At the moment of booking you can also rent helmets, suitable for head circumferences from 54 to 61. All helmets have a certification mark according to the DIN EN 1078 (CE) European norm.
All the hotels have been selected mindful of your comfort as well as the proximity to cycling paths and any relevant local sites. The hotels of this tour are mainly 4* hotels, with some 3* hotels. All rooms have en suite facilities and air conditioning.
When you book the tour please specify the type of room requested:
- double room is a room with one double bed
- twin room is a room with two single beds
- triple room is usually a room with one double bed and a single bed or a rollaway.
