  1. Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu (1400m/4387 ft.)

    Arrival at hotel in Kathmandu. After room check-in, the hotel, there will be a short briefing and orientation about the trek. Welcome Dinner and overnight stay at hotel in Kathmandu.

  2. Day 2 Kathmandu

    Free day for shopping, briefing and team introduction.

  3. Day 3 Fly from Kathmandu - Pokhara - Darbang (1,110m / 3,640 ft. – 6-7 hours)

    After early breakfast, transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport to board the 25 min flight to Pokhara. Upon arrival in Pokahra meet waiting vehicle and drive to Darbang via Beni on jeep relishing the view of lush hills and snow-capped mountains. Following the flow of Kali Gandaki River, we pass the town of Beni and then follow Myagdi Khola to arrive in Darbang.

  4. Day 4 Trek from Darbang to Khamla (1,780m / 5,838 ft. – 6~7 hours)

    After breakfast, we head towards Khamla ascending to the ridge-top village of Dharapani from where we can get a beautiful view of the Dhaulagiri massif, Gurja Himal (7193m), and Putha Hiunchuli (7246m). We continue our trek walking along the ridge on the path above the river to reach Sibang.

  5. Day 5 Trek from Khamla to Bagar (2,080m / 6,822 ft. – 7~8 hours)

    Leaving behind Khamla, we descend to Gatti Khola then climb up to the village of Muri where Myagdi and Dhara rivers meet. We continue to trek crossing the bridge over Dhola Khola and descend through the terraced farm fields and sparse settlements before arriving in Bagar village.

  6. Day 6 Trek from Bagar to Dobhan (2,520m / 8,265 ft. – 5~7 hours)

    Moving alongside the bank of Myagdi Khola through a grassy hill and a steep slope, we arrive in Bagar. We then follow the up and down trail to Dobhan. We continue to descend through a forest to Jyardan before climbing uphill to Lipshe. The route then enters the forested area before ascending up to Dobhan.

  7. Day 7 Trek from Dobhan to Sallaghari (3,150m /10,334 ft. – 5~6 Hours)

    After having breakfast, we start our trek and the early part of the gentle ascending trail moves through forest of bamboo, pine trees and rhododendrons, after gently trekking for some hours in which the route goes uphill and downhill respectively, you reach Sallaghari and this becomes our camping spot in between forest surrounded by pine trees at the bank of Myagdi River and stay overnight at campsite.

  8. Day 8 Trek from Sallaghari to Italian Base Camp (3680m/12,073 ft.)

    After having breakfast at camp, we start our trek and today we will reach the Italian Base Camp where we will camp just in front of the West wall of the massive Dhaulagiri, passing through beautiful flower laden forest we rapidly gain altitude and mountains burst out all around, It’s spectacular hereabouts.We can get the best view of Tukuche Peak (6920m), Dhaulagiri Range, and other mountains from Italian Base Camp. Overnight in Tented Camp.

  9. Day 9 Acclimatization day- Italian Base camp (3680m/12,073 ft.)

    We take this day for acclimatization. We can explore the base camp area or spend the day relishing the spectacular view of surrounding mountains. Overnight at tented camp.

  10. Day 10 Trek from Italian Base Camp to Japanese Base Camp (4,100m / 13,450 ft. – 4~5 hrs.)

    Leaving behind Italian Base Camp, we trek through the rocky area on a steep slope before crossing the glacial moraines. We then reach a wide grassy area in a shallow ablation valley known as “Japanese Base Camp”. We have rewarded with the west face of Dhaulagiri I (8167m) on one side and Tsaurabong Peak (6395m) on the other.

  11. Day 11 Trek from Japanese Base Camp to Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4,748m / 15,573 ft – 4~5 hrs.)

    Today is the most challenging day out of our journey. Walking on the glacier, sometimes on the lateral moraine and undulating surface of the glacier itself, we carefully and responsibly make our way up to Dhaulagiri Base Camp. Upon reaching, we can see the stunning view of all the peaks of Dhaulagiri range along with an amazing icefall descending from the Dhaulagiri and Tukuche Peak ridgeline. Overnight at tented camp.

  12. Day 12 Acclimatization day- Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4,748m / 15,573 ft )

    We take this day for acclimatization. We can explore the base camp area or spend the day relishing the spectacular view of surrounding mountains. Overnight at tented camp.

  13. Day 13 Trek from Dhaulagiri Base Camp to Hidden Valley Camp (5,140m / 16,860 ft.) – 6~7 hrs. Via French Pass (5,360m / 17,580 ft.)

    We continue to trek on the north side of Chhondarban Glacier, and gradually climb the steep hillside above the glacier. Following the zig-zag trail across moraines, we make our way up to French Pass which gives a 360-degree view of surrounding mountain ranges. We then gently descend through snow slopes to finally reach the Hidden Valley.

  14. Day 14 Trek from Hidden Valley to Yak Kharka (4,200m /13,776 ft.) – 4~5 hours via Dhampus Pass (5,244m / 17,200 ft.)

    We head towards Yak Kharka crossing over Dhampus Pass (5244m). Relishing the beautiful view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges in the background, we descend steeply to Yak Kharka through avalanche prone slopes.

  15. Day 15 Trek from Yak Kharka to Marpha (2,670m / 8,921 ft.) – 3~4 hours and drive to Tatopani /Beni (3~4hrs)

    We continue to descend steeply from Yak Kharka towards Marpha which is also known as the apple capital of Nepal. Lunch at Marpha and drive further to Tatopani/Beni. Overnight at tea houses.

  16. Day 16 Drive to Pokhara; Fly to Kathmandu.

    After breakfast, bidding farewell to all Sherpa support team and porters and 3 hrs drive Pokhara city, fly to Kathmandu/ Upon arrival in Kathmandu, assist and transfer to the hotel and check in. Overnight at the hotel in Pokhara.
    Eve: Farewell dinner to celebrate the successful completion of Dhaulagiri Circuit. Overnight at the hotel in kathmandu

  17. Day 17 Final Departure

    Transfer to international airport. Final departure.

  • Children 15 years and above can be considered if accompanied by any other adult above 18 years of age.
  • Medical Certificate is required from all age groups.

Dispersal Time & Venue are specified in the Itinerary wherein the time of dispersal at a particular venue is stated. Dispersal time in the itinerary should be considered as an expected time of dispersal and you should take into consideration delays due to traffic, breakdowns, etc. Further your return travel arrangements should take into account the flight reporting time.

This trek is graded as ‘strenuous’. It is ideal for adults and children above minimum age of 18. This trek involves walking on defined trails for 13 days with a average walking duration of 7-8 hrs daily. Net height gain on few of the days can be 800-1000mtr or more, with the maximum altitude not exceeding 5300m. This trek involves walking on high altitude. This trek is physically very challenging. Physical fitness & previous walking experience in the outdoors is essential.

The trek is strenuous and involves walking 7-8 hrs daily (more, on few days). Previous walking experience on high altitude is helpful. The highest altitude that we attain on this trek is 5545m / 18,193 ft. We do not recommend this trek to people with chronic problems like epilepsy and those related to blood pressure or heart or Diabetes. We also suggest to take up exercises that increase muscle endurance & core strength.

It is mandatory that all participants carry 02 passport size photographs for issuance of permits.

• Baggage allowance of 15 kg is permissible on Kathmandu -Pokhara sector flights.
• On treks, porters or mules will carry all personal luggage up to a maximum of 15 kg. Guests are expected to carry only a small rucksack while walking to carry all the essentials such as water bottle, extra jackets, camera, pack lunch, etc.
• The personal luggage along with sleeping bag, Feather jacket should be packed in a duffel bag.
• If the client wishes to hire a porter so that he can walk along with the client, then an extra porter can be arranged on written request in advance, for which the client must make an extra payment. The cost for an extra porter will be approx. 1000-1500- per day. This porter will carry only your daypack (not weighing more than 10 kg) from camp to camp. After reaching the camp he will be free. The request should be made in writing info@countrysideindia.com at least 10 days prior to the trek date.

On this trek professional medical help is not be available. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are physically fit and able to complete the itinerary of your chosen trek, prior to booking the trek. It would be advisable to speak to your physician if you are unsure of your fitness levels. It would be advisable to speak to the trek leader or representatives from our organization, who have done the trek earlier. In case you have an existing medical condition or disability you must inform us at the time of booking, in the Personal Information Form and also to the ‘Trek Leader’ at the beginning of the trek. If in our opinion, the selected trek is not suitable for your medical condition, we reserve the right to refuse a booking.
We carry a comprehensive first aid kit as suggested by doctors. In case of any health problems that you may face on the trek, it would be advisable to speak to your Trek Leader / local guides / local representatives. Please note that all these treks are not accompanied by a medical doctor.
These treks are on high altitude where you would be staying at altitudes above 2500m; extra precaution is needed before you acclimatize to these altitudes. Our itineraries are designed to enable everyone to acclimatize to these altitudes. However, you should be aware that you may still be affected by altitude. If you have any pre-existing medical condition or are unsure about your own physical ability, we recommend that you seek medical advice prior to booking. Also, please discuss your concerns, if any, with our office staff and with the trek leader on the trek. If you are on any personal medication please keep the trek leader informed on the dosage and medication.
Any medical and evacuation expenses incurred for the client will have to be borne by that person only. (All the participants have to keep some contingency amount as a backup at home for this kind of emergency).

Day temperatures average between 15ºC – 27ºC and night temperatures can drop to sub-zero. However, the temperatures would vary a lot depending on the season and altitude.

It is important to purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy against illness, hospitalization, flight delays, loss of luggage, cancellations and amendments due to weather conditions, political disturbances or natural calamities as well as emergency helicopter evacuation, etc.

In case you decide to buy any other insurance policy in your home country, please ensure that the policy covers cashless evacuation and covers you for Adventure activities and/or trekking activity above 4500 meters.

This trek is a high-altitude trek and the maximum height reached will be approx. 5300m. Acute mountain sickness (AMS) can be caused due to high altitudes. The AMS may be avoided by taking precautions given in the document attached on high altitudes, please read the document carefully. The high altitude can cause Acute Mountain Sickness and may lead to serious critical medical conditions such as cerebral or pulmonary edema.
The weather can change dramatically causing rain, thunder storm, flash floods, cloud burst, snow fall and severe drop in temperatures, causing severe physical hardships.

The local staff such as the guides, porters, etc.; work extremely hard all through the trek. On the trek there are no working hours; they would travel, walk, climb or go through bad weather along with us and still be happy to serve us at any time of the day. So it is expected of the group to contribute a modest amount towards tips and the staff would expect this at the end of their services. We suggest you to contribute INR 2000/- (US$35) per person as a token of gratitude and appreciation. This may be collected by one of the group members and presented to the staff.

Sleeping bag and Feather jackets can be hired on written request, at info@countrysideindia.com, atleast 10 days prior to date of reporting. The same will be provided on arrival at reporting hotel. Rentals for Sleeping Bag & Feather Jacket is INR 100/- per day each plus INR 100/- each for laundry.
