Trek to Pin Parvati Pass
Mid July – September
We start our trip from Solang. We do short acclimatization walks and rest. The next day is a long journey over two passes; the first being Rohtang pass (approx. 13,000 ft.) and the second one being Kunzum La (approx. 15,000 ft.) to reach Kaza (approx. 11,976 ft.). After acclimatization in Kaza for two nights we proceed to the picturesque Mud village for the night.
Our trek starts from Mud, we trek for 3-4 days through the stark landscape of the Pin valley slowly climbing upto the Pin Parvati Pass. The climb up is through moraine boulders and at times ice fields. From the pass we get down to the Mantalai lake which is surrounded by snow-capped mountains on three sides. From here it is further down through flowering meadows and later through forests of rhododendrons, fir, and birch following the Parvati river to Khir Ganga.
This is a demanding but rewarding trek passing through thick pine forests and fields of wild flowers and offers spectacular views of the mountains as we gain altitude.
