Namdapha National Park located on the eastern tip of Arunachal Pradesh is a paradise – a Mecca for nature lovers. This rainforest extending well over 2000 sq. km is a biodiversity hotspot containing more than 1000 species of plants, 500 species of birds, 350 butterflies and many smaller forms of life. This is the only park which boasts of having big large cats namely tiger, leopard, clouded leopard and now leopard, despite which it is difficult to see any of them or their prey due to the dense forestation. But this is more than made up enjoying the humongous trees and appreciating the smaller forms of life giving us a better understanding of the web of life.

Nam Dapha Trek from 01Feb - 07Feb 2021 This was a wonderful camping and trekking trip organised by Countryside and almost everything was perfectly executed as planned. Kiran our lead and guide from Countryside did a fabulous job during the entire trek. I had travelled with my daughter on this trip, and as she was the only female in the group there was another local girl who also travelled with us so that she could give my daughter company. At the end of the trip my daughter had a new local friend and almost everyone in the trip became like one extended family. Thanks to Countryside for not just the trip but also for creating some fantastic memories along the way!

Namdapha Rainforest Trek in Arunachal Pradesh I had a amazing experience in the pristine and serene forests of Namdapha. The trek was organized to the perfection by Countryside and our tour leader Kiran. Kiran and the entire back up team of locals from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh were extremely warm, caring and helpful. The forest is very rich with birds and butterflies! As part of the trek we also got a glimpse into the everday lives of Lisus (a tribe in Arunachal, Myamar, China). Some of the members of the tribe were part of the back up team and answered all our curiosities with patience! A special mention and big hand of applause to Kiran, Youlisa and Anna for helping me out with my shoes, which gave way during the trek. Tips to all trekkers: Please check your shoes and use them prior to the trek.

Namdhapa Forest Trek - a truly enchanting, evergreen experience! Just returned from the Namdhapa Rainforest trek in Arunachal Pradesh today. This was my second trip with Countryside - the first one being Mongolia and as usual - they exceeded all expectations. The trip was very well organised - our tour guide Kiran was excellent and had planned this trip out to the utmost detail. Special thanks to Yulisa - the local guide, Anna, his niece and ever smiling entrepreneur, Amit the camping organiser, Babloo the cook for the wonderful meals he served, Japong - the head elephant mahout and the full team that made this trip memorable. The trail and trek took us through the delightful, untouched, virgin Namdhapa rainforest - traversing and crossing two rivers - the Noa Dihing and Namdhapa Dihing by means of unique freshly constructed (rain washes them away every year) Bamboo bridges constructed by the Lisu tribe. For many of us who had either not trekked for a long time, Kiran and team encouraged, guided and helped us finish this truly memorable trek. They went out of the way many times - like even repairing a participant's shoes to keep her going! I must mention here that the oldest participant was 69 years young - and even he came out smiling! The campsites were at lovely locations - the most notable being - Imbiong - which was on the confluence of the two rivers and the campsite at 19th mile which was beautiful. Coming from the urban, concrete jungle, this trek was a soothing experience for the senses. The Woods are indeed - in Robert Frost's words - Lovely, dark and deep - and the Namdhapa rainforest will always maintain a special place in my heart! Thank you to everyone who made this possible!

Trekking through a magical evergreen lowland rainforest Beautifully planned to the T, Countryside India ensures a truly special experience on this remote, magical, less traversed, route. The camp locations, tents, food, support team and the tour leader were all excellent and went out of the way to make sure to include everyone's interests. Countryside India rocks!

It was a superb start to 2020. I got to know about this trek from a friend, and booked it instantly. While I personally faced some physical challenges due to my own fitness levels being low, the trek itself was beautifully planned. There was complete support from the team and though I felt like I wouldn't be able to go on, as assures by our team leader, I could. I am happy that I did finish this trek, for I would have missed some great experiences. The campsites were well thought out, and the local guides were excellent. It was an exhilarating space, quite, completely cut off from the chaos and hustle of the routine life. Some awe inspiring sights and sightings made it worth all the efforts I had taken.
